Re: Guadalupe River State Park
I'd be interested in knowing how much gear, food, water (if any), etc. you brought along for a 7 day/night campout. I'm aware the walk-in sites have water, so you probably didn't bring much, but for food what did you get by with
Hi Shannon,
I don't know if you remember me, but I was the guy about a week ago that was asking all the questions about primitive camping and what I should take. This was my first solo campout and I wasn't sure what to expect. So, I ended up taking way to much of everything. As it turns out, there was a water faucet not more than 25 feet from my tent site, which I wasn't expecting. So the water I took along wasn't ever really needed. I really enjoyed Guadalupe River State Park and will camp there again someday. But the next time I really would like to find a true primitive campsite where I have to really take everything that I will need. I learned a lot from this 7 day campout and will apply what I learned to my next campout.
