Hello,
This is my first post to the forum, but I browse the site often ever since I purchased a State Park pass.
I moved to Dallas about a year ago from Colorado. In Colorado I lived in a very small town called Georgetown. Gravel roads, no stoplights, hike out your backdoor kind of town, which I really enjoyed. Dallas has been fun, and I have really enjoyed my outdoor pursuits here so far, but I'm starting to feel burnt on the city life.
Now its time to move again, this time to Austin, and I am looking for info on towns or living areas around Austin that can possibly take me back to that slower pace of living I found in CO. I am basically looking for living areas that could keep me close enough to Austin for business (about a 20 min drive max), but can still allow a more small town life. I'm more interested in country living over suburban life, and I will still be renting a house, not buying.
So can anybody offer up info on places around Austin that might fit the bill? I'll take green over concrete any day, so isolated, wooded areas would be a bonus, though I understand my budget limitations may not allow for such luxuries.
Anyway, any information would be greatly appreciated. I know you all can understand my passion for the outdoors, so I thought this would be a good place to ask.
Thank you,
Scott Rouse
