We have camped (if you want to call it that) at Mustang Island SP. Not much in the way of "real camping" IMO. We stayed in the water-electric area. There was a sheltered picnic table and stand-up BBQ, but no fire rings. The area is little more than a parking lot.
OK, those are the negatives. As for the positives, it’s a good place to set down for a couple of days if you want to have some fun at the beach...which we did. The restrooms and showers were very well kept. And when we no longer wanted to be out in the hot sun, we were able to retreat to our air conditioned trailer (thanks to having hookups!
) Corpus Christi is right across the JFK causeway for day trips to the Texas Aquarium or the USS Lexington.
Depending on what you intend to do, MISP can be a great place to hang out. :yes:
