hi,i was in my yard today with my 120 lb blue heeler,oh by the way i live at lake travis,and a buck deer went flying by like death was sure.as my dog and i watched a thickish grey colored red tipped large animal was kicking it after him.this was not a dog and at first i thought it was a wolf.he mite have weighed 60 lbs but was looking like he was about to loose his winter coat,in other words not a dog.well in researching i find our two wolves are extinct.was it possibly a coyote.it is a mecca for deer out here and that mite explain the larger size.will the hunt down a buck and chase by themselves,which i thought was odd.again this was not a dog and i feel fortunate he didnt set his sites on us.but it was an awesome site,one of the reasons i moved here.
