But here's what I did: I hiked the main trail for about 3 and 1/4 miles and when I came to the West Fork Trail, I took it (to the west, naturally) until I came to another intersection (Little Lake Creek Trail). I turned right on the LLC trail which headed back in the direction of the parking lot. It intersected again with the Main Trail; I turned left and was back at the car in another 1/4 mile.
By the way, no mud and standing water on the trail, which surprized me. Hope this helps. Oh, I forgot to mention it's about 7 miles total.
In addition to the Little Lake Creek Loop, close by east of Hwy 149 is the Caney Creek Loop which is about 13 miles in length. Check the LST Hiking Club website for maps.
