Re: 4 C's Trail
I'm fully supplied now thanks to my new found camping/hiking supplier. I ordered a few items last week and just had to have them so I paid the extra bucks to have it sent over night. So this past weekend I car-camped (cheese), but it was a trial run for what other items I was missing. Any how I went up to Stubblefield Camp on the North end of lake Conroe. Lots of Deer Hunters about, but everyone was rather friendly. Believe it or not I was trying to go for the full blow experience, of ruffing it so I passed on the "brew-ha-ha!" But I can report that once it comes to making coffee, washing your hands of camp fire ash, and cleaning your cooking pots WATER is one resource that was in high demand. I have added a handled scrub brush to my pack, to make a more economical method of cleaning up. I use a 6500 cubic inch pack, I have to have all the fixings. It got a bit chilly this past weekend. I'm planing on going out again this weeked just not sure where. Can't do much hiking due to the deer season, I mean I'm very much willing to - I'm just recalling the cold weather from last weekend and the even colder weather now. After the trip I've added a fleece liner (mummy) to my pack, so light hiking shoes - due to my work shoes getting trashed, and a camp pillow. I'm still looking forward to a Four-C trip ASAP. Any one willing to plan a trip? I'm still trying to nudge my pals into going. *Laugh* ..One of them commented over a couple of beers last night that he just didn't like to walk. I'm thinking deep down, he's OUT!! hehehe -- Cheers and happy hiking.
