As one of the resident old guys on these forums, I can admit to you that I muddled around with surfing back when it was a craze in the early to mid sixties. The Beach Boys sang about it in Calif. and it eventually caught on here on the Tx Gulf Coast also. I never had my own board as I just rented them at the beach. It was fun but I never got very good at it. I learned that if the waves were good enough to catch on a board, one could also dive out in front of a breaking wave and body surf.
