According to the latest
Texas Parks & Wildlife Department news,
Garner State Park will be
CLOSED until at least July 18th due to catastrophic flooding. I would recommend you call the Texas State Parks Customer Contact Center at (512)389-8900 closer to your intended arrival date to re-confirm reservations, as it may take them longer than anticipated to clean up the damage. Since you're in a water-only site, you should not have too much trouble, versus folks who have reservations for the screened shelters -- which probably sustained a lot of damage in the floods.

Due to the extensive damage Garner State Park has sustained from the recent flood, the park is closed for repair. The park suffered considerable damage from Frio River floodwaters that inundated campgrounds and restrooms, causing damage to electrical systems and park facilities. The park will remain closed, for cleanup and repairs, at least through July 18th. The decision to temporarily close is based on damage to water-wastewater systems that leaves the park without potable water and without the ability to serve the public in a way that would comply with state rules. Please continue to check back with our web site, or the T.P.W.D. Customer Contact Center at (512) 389-8900, for updates. Link to pictures of Garner State Park flood damage.
