Re: North Sulphur River Fossil Hunting

Hi,
My wife and I used to go to the hway 19/24 bridge and just wade the river bed during periods of low water between Cooper and Paris I think. It has been many years for us as well. We always looked for shark teeth. One time my wife found 3 arrowheads. We still have many of the fossilized shells she brought back from hunting trips when she was a youngster. I have heard many stories of either wooly mammoth or mastadon excavations in the NSR channel. I was also told about a dinosaur exhibit which was being built along some road at the NS river crossing, just don't remember what road. I would be very interested to hear about how your trip went. My wife and I have talked of making the same trip again sometime soon. I was afraid that access might be an issue this day and time.
