Based on what the wildlife rescue folks said, I'd say, "Sit back and enjoy the show!" Borrow a camcorder and film them through your back window or something... it's not every day you get to observe a family of ducks in your backyard!

Your pool, eh? I hope it's not heavily chlorinated... though I've seen whistling ducks and other wild birds happily enjoying fairly clean looking pools (like the otter pool) at the San Antonio Zoo. <shrug> Go figure!
