my husband and plan such a bicycle tour someday- a month long perhaps, in a few years (once we are free again) - somewhere up north. I'm not comfortable enough here in texas to try crossing it though. it seems as though every time i ride down here, there is some psycho in a truck trying to run us off the road. My husband has been hit twice (both up in boston though)- and i'm not sure how long his luck will last, so i dont want to push it more than i have to
i imagine crossing texas in the fall would be a mighty fine trip. couldn't pay me enough to do it in the summer though. but octoberish, when its still warm during the days (80s) but not too warm, and cools off at night... that'd be real nice.
