Thumbs up Limiting Light Pollution

I'd noticed a "DARK SKY ZONE" sign on our weekly road bike rides and wondered how someone pulled that off in our over-developed, horribly light polluted area of town. Turns out it's for military operations at nearby Camp Bullis. Hey, I'm all for it--I miss my dark skies for stargazing and meteor-watching from growing up, and I've been appalled at how AWFUL the commercial lighting fixtures are in our area as each new commercial complex has gone in (Target's the worst!)

More info: San Antonio, Texas' Planning & Development Services Department
