Re: frio river and concan question

Well, on the Frio, it's ALL good. Seriously though, different people have different opinions about where a good location is. Young people have a way of finding the cool places. The reason we have returned to the Frio for 37 years (as a couple) is the diverse choices of the river. There are deep places for tree jumping and shallow places for toddlers and chairs sitting in the river just to sit and talk and people watch. It would take a local to tell you exactly where spots will be deep as the spring floods can change the river very quickly. We were always excited to see the river for the first time to see what had changed from our last visit. There is a lot of river crossings that seem to be popular with the kids. We have a place with some solitude and moving water waiting for us also in June. The kids will definitely want to visit Garner State Park to go to the dance at the pavilion around dark-thirty. Our grandkids go to the dance once or twice when they are there, oldest being 10 and youngest will be 2 by then. They love THE DANCE. We are older than kids now but we still like bike riding and some hiking but that is mostly in the park. I think there is still horseback riding close by and maybe putt-putt golf too.
Good luck with your visit and I hope for your sake and ours that the river gets some showers before our visits.
