type in fort davis texas and you can get a range.
Make sure you visit the McDonnald Observatory and take the hike to the fort if your in to hiking.
A number of State Parks sort of on the way but not much directly
we used the Midland
RV campground (its on I-20) one of the ways, it was clean and easy on off. There is a KOA in Abeline if I recall also.
