Welcome! I've camped there several times, have always enjoyed it, and we have always stayed in site 45! (I guess the secret's out)
We've driven that dirt road right from Vernon a couple of times, the views of the Medicine Mounds are great that way in. It's not a bad road...if it's dry.
I would recommend the Bull Canyon Trail hike. It was much prettier than we all expected. I'd put on the long pants, though, I stumbled over a surprisingly understanding rattlesnake sunbathing across the trail.
The bluebonnets were incredible there in 2007 but we didn't get nearly as much rain this Spring so they didn't even come close to last year (this is looking out to Highway 6).
