We are from Plano and in less than 2 1/2 hours with a trailer you can get to a number of nice parks, (quicker with a tent )we enjoy Cooper Lake South SP, Lake Tawokani (LT) SP, and both Ray Roberts SP (RR) units. LT and RR (south) are the closest of those four. RR offers bike hike trails that are concrete. Also offers trail hikes/walks. Of those 4 LT would be my first recomendation, for being close it is usually underused. I did a report recently on this site. It does not have a playground if that is important. RR offers the most to do with the trails, and playgrounds, fish piers and more. Need more let us know.
