The rain guage I use is my inground pool. Between 11 and 1 pm Thursday I had to pump out 4 inches to get it down to normal. We had a lot of road flooding in my little town but within an hour of the last deluge, most of it had drained off and/or soaked in. An elderly driver skirted a road block at the highway underpass and floated around a bit before a tow truck driver waded in and hand-pushed her car to where it touched ground again. That was sort of funny to see. Poor lady was embarrassed but unhurt. Can't say that about her car though...
