That is a loaded question but here goes, First we had a pop up for 7 years, and traveled with 2 kids as far as yellowstone and back. We enjoyed the time.

We now have a hybrid and enjoy it also.

As to the big things, a hybrid does cost more but you get walls. (see pictures in the link (the webshots link below)

The ends come out as tent ends and we have a slide out, full kitchen stove,refrig, ac heat bathroom and other things, we had no stove, no restroom and less room in the pop-up

The hybrid and popup relieve some of the elements and the hard ground (or cot) with a matress. You can camp in any weather and be comfortable with the hybrid (down to 20 last year)

I have to think more but both to me are better than a tent trust me once your off the ground and can stand and walk more than 6 feet its grear ( and I still tent with the scouts so I know all three)
