Re: Rate Your Adventure

Yes, the power boats are annoying, if nothing else because of the waves when they go by. Plus it seems like just as they go by, they lose the skier and have to turn around, so they go by twice.

The only creek I saw worth exploring was Meecham Creek before the railroad bridge neat Whitney. I went back yesterday to go from Chisolm Trail Park to Ham Creek. Here's the rating:

Brazos River - Chisolm Trail Park to Ham Creek Park. Rating = 9. Nice cliffs and one nice beach, lots of power boats. Also, lots of submerged logs and stumps, which was a problem because I took my canvas kayak and didn't want to rip a hole in the bottom. Saw a doe and two fawns swim the river, and then saw them on the other bank (no video). I was on the river about 5 hours - it's about 2 hours each way. The return trip (supposed to be down river)) was fighting a major current and headwinds. This is a nice trip if you don't want to take all day. My next one will be from Kimball Bend to Chisolm Trail Park, or vice versa.

Toejam - I didn't stay at Bridgeport, but put in at Wise County Park and stayed on that end of the lake, going up Big Creek River about 2-3 miles. Itw as still very wide and my next trip I hope to go further up river. To go up the Trinity, you would have to go further down the lake and take the part that meanders over and up to the Trinity. I may do that at some point, but don't have plans to do so at this time.
