Thumbs up Daingerfield SP (July 2008)

In one of the nicest parks in Texas we spent our 4th of July 2008. Daingerfield SP is located in Morris county Texas, off SH 49 near Mt Pleasant (south of I 30, and North of I 20). (THIS IS EAST TEXAS folks)

The park offers picnicking, camping, limited boating, fishing; swimming and hiking.

Park facilities include primative campsites with water; campsites with water and electricity; campsites with water, electricity, and sewer (we stayed in site 9 full service) a fishing pier; and a fish-cleaning facility; 2 miles of hiking trails; a playground with slides and swings; cabins with heating and air-conditioning, and kitchen facilities (linens and towels are furnished; but utensils, dishes, and silverware are not)

Sites 1-10 (Big Pine) are the full serve sites and are all under the lob lolly pines. 90 degrees did not feel like 90 under the shade and away from humidity.

Both Dogwood and Mt View camping areas offer lots of shade also

We spend some time lounging in the lake and strolling through the trees.

Will post pictures in a later section. Highly recommend this park. Its 3 hours east of Plano, Texas and worth the trip.
