Thanks for the snake warning. So many parks have signs but seldom have we encountered any. Lake Colorado City will be just a stop over point. I didn't want to drive more than 4 hours. I doubt we'll do more than sleep there.

Has anyone ever had a snake find a shady spot under their tent, and then you discover it later? Things like that just freak me out.
