Review of Lake Whitney SP

Nice place, ya'll.

We arrived after hours, so we had to find our water-only site by ourselves, then hit the ranger station to pay in the a.m. I was SO happy to see there were NO tent pads, so I could set my new Coleman Red Canyon monstrocity up wherever I chose...and I did. :P
The weather was a bit chillier at night than we had hoped, but we came prepared and managed to stay warm, but the days warmed up fast. The neighbors were great save one group of partying college kids ((sig)), but the left afer the first night, thankfully. There are abundant showers, at least 3 or 4 locations, and the water was HOT--loved it!! There is no fishing pier, but there is a fish cleaning station and a couple "playgrounds" with swings only. I saw shelters as well, but no cabins. There were lots of deer, but saw little else in the way of wildlife. The rangers are friendly, but checkin is s-l-o-w, so be preapred to wait in line for quite sometime at busier times. Firewood costs $4.50 a bundle! :o
All in all, a nice park and we liked it very much. It's a little difficult for me to navigate, but then again, I seem to be directionally impaired sometimes. :P
