Re: Spring Break Plans

Inks is nice. You can rent canoes and paddleboats. I suggest the canoe tour. It's cheaper than renting it for the same time and you get a tour. Ranger Smith does the tour and he's knows the lake. Sometimes they offer a nature hike to stumpy hollow. We've done that and also the Owl prowl hike at night. There are loads of deer in the park and love to eat white bread ( don't ask me how I know this). We like to drive the park at sunset, we call it a "Deer drive". It seems that they won't run away if you are in your car 5 feet away from them. If you are on foot 20 feet away they run.

We like frozen raviolli. It cooks fast and the sauce can be room temp and poured on top. Frozen shrimp, linguinie and alfredo sauce works. Preseasoned chicken breasts like southwestern, Italian, or fajita cooks quick on the Coleman. chili is easy. What about bringing a crock pot. After breakfast, throw your meat and veggies in ( use a crock pot liner to help with the clean up), and you'll have an easy dinner. Most people think of hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, chicken etc, on the grill. That's all great stuff, unless they have a full burn ban which means NO CHARCOAL. Always have plan B.

Search this site for threads about Inks, Longhorn cavern, and menus. I know menus have been discussed here before, it's been a while.

Have fun.
